Last day in Japan!

Photos from the last day in Tokyo! Went to the Ghibli museum (sorry Soph, only kids were allowed on the giant neko-bus and no photos inside the museum lol) This place was pretty cool and buying gifts in the gift shop was nuts! So many people in one shop!!!

Got to go to Tokyo tower after that and still had time to go back to Akihabara and get Ben a go pro! Such a good price, it was half the price as here in Australia!

The line was so long for check in yesterday but found that they had newbies in training. Then saw this guy in line... Yes that is an old hippy who was wheeling around an old school red vacuum cleaner with chord, covered in sticky photos and it had the name Eric in Japanese on the back!! This one if for you Sophie, thought tons have a good laugh haha

We arrived home safe and sound very early this morning and after our nap I sorted all the souvenirs... Do you think I have enough? It's like my own cute shop of stuff! Ben also bought Ruby a bumble bee outfit for laughs!!! Haha

Caved and had Maccas for lunch for the first time in weeks. I think we did good in Japan not using forks at all and no junk food!!

Got to have a nap when we got home and I can't believe how soft our pillows are! We have been sleeping on rocks compared to this!

Will reapply miss the bento boxes though. Didn't miss the bogans though, got back to the gold coast airport and they were everywhere!

More of Tokyo and visit with the Shimizu's

Would like to say a mega thank you to the beautiful Sophie, Riki and little Yuna for showing us around their town/prefecture today! Can't believe there was snow in spring! We had such a great time with you guys! Thank you for our gifts too! :-) Awesome hosts!!

They took us to the giant Buddha and then the mall and we got some of the purikura photos and played some games in the game zone and then they took us to lunch and then to the steps at Ikaho onsen where we were going to stay until a certain MIL changed them! And then they took us up the big government building! Great hosts, over 8 hours of being tour guides :)

Below are also some pics from Tokyo Sky Tree and Harajuku and Akihabara the day before :)

People watching in Shibuya

Watching people cross the big crossing at Shibuya from Starbucks after another day in Tokyo.

Went to the Sensoji temple at Asakusa and tried to go up Tokyo Sky Tree but it was too windy today! Might try another day or night.

Bought so many things in the shopping street near the temple though! Everything was cute and I wanted it!!! So many key chains and hello kitty stuff everywhere and I bought like 6 of these cute hand made cats holding things (made of pretty material).

Next day, 20th of April:

Went to Harajuku this morning, rocked up about 10 and thought that wad a silly time to be there, all the crazies would be out later so we didn't really see much of the people in dress up clothes, just a few punky looking people.

There were so many crepe shops down the main street (Takeshita dori) so we both got one and they were pretty epic! Ben got a strawberry cheesecake one and I got strawberry and chocolate (all come with fresh whipped cream)!  We must have set a trend as heaps of people lined up at the one we got one from, bloody American tourists too!

Went to NHK studio not far from there to see if we could get a tour of the place but no there was just a rubbish gallery (literally, things recycled from rubbish found). I think it was Tokyo earth day as outside the studio there were markets and stuff. Waste of time lol

Headed over to electric town (Akihabara) to see if they had anything decent. Not overly fussed with it. Had lunch in the Yodabashi store there and went onto the Sega game place but just played the prize games, we're not hard core enough for the other levels haha

We watched a few of them doing their thing and they were nuts, they must live there! There was a DJ game and and this guy was killing it! I think he got to about 350 correct buttons in a row!!

Tokyo DisneySea!!!

Feet are so sore... Totally worth it though! Popcorn buckets galore and a few good rides, interesting place! I beat Ben at the toy story shooting game too.. He said there were more targets on my side and he would survive if it was real because his accuracy was a bit better (46% v 38%). My score was 138,000 and his was 122, 000. Pfft! I won lol

Saw heaps of couples today with matching clothes on haha Cute but kind of weird!
