Hiroshima: the city of peace

Strange weather today, it's cold but then the sun comes out but then it's cloudy and rains and then sunny again... Very confused weather!

After another random breakfast this morning we headed back to the station set on visiting the peace park and A-bomb dome. We were told to get on the street car (tram) and got or tickets just in the nick of time on the tram before we got off - silly tourists!

Spent a good hour or so looking at the memorials and in the museum, very sad stuff! It was the poor civilians who suffered all the bad stuff and it was because it was a clear day over Hiroshima that it got the bomb.

After the museum we headed for the ferry terminal and bought tickets for the ferry Miyajima. Nice hour long boat ride with full glass windows and swivel chairs!

Arriving at the ferry terminal, we hopped off into some more drizzling but soon found that this place sells umbrellas by the dozen! Now we have 2 pretty sturdy clear umbrellas :D

Straight away we saw some deer just sitting down near some trees, took a few photos but didn't need to since they were everywhere, one even trying to get into a shop and one must have been really hungry as it was licking a ladies bag!!

This place was so beautiful! Pity it was raining and hard to take photos while holding an Imelda under your arm and trying not to poke people in the eye! It stopped for a bit though but was super cold so we didn't go everywhere, would love to come back one day!

You didn't really need to eat a meal here as a lot of the places in the street were selling things on skewers so we tried a few, I don't think Ben should have had that last squid tentacle thing... Stomach not feeling too good apparently.

Loving Hiroshima, it's so beautiful with the rivers in the city and the mountains all around! Have seen more tourists here as well, guess most people skip Osaka!

4 days in and we have done a load of washing haha

To sum it up, love Hiroshima and Miyajima!! Such a gorgeous area! But balls it was cold today! Went to the A-bomb Dome and the Peace Park/museum... War is stupid and pointless!
On a happier note Miyajima was awesome. Saw some deer (one trying to get onto a shop and one licking a ladies bag - must be hungry)! Gorgeous shopping streets and shrines and a pagoda, and of course the famous torii gate! LOVE!!

4 days in and we're doing our first load of washing haha
